About the student exchange program

This system allows students to study abroad at partner universities for periods of two or four semesters (4 to 12 months), based on student exchange agreements concluded between The University of Nagano and overseas universities. During the study abroad period, students are considered enrolled students, and if they pay tuition fees to The University of Nagano, they will not be charged tuition fees at the host university. After returning to Japan, students can apply to their faculty/department and, if approved, their credits can be treated as credits at Nagano Prefectural University.

While there are language requirements and other conditions, an exchange program where you study regular classes alongside international students and spend a period of six months or a year abroad is an invaluable experience.
Preparing for an exchange program involves understanding the language requirements set by the partner university and systematically planning your studies at The University of Nagano. If you have even the slightest interest, start gathering information as soon as possible.
