Miwa Campus

The entire campus is a learning space.
Learning facilities
Media Plaza

Located next to the Global Center, it spearheads global learning, including language studies. There are also dedicated booths for language learning using Skype.
lecture room

In the bright, open lecture halls with glass walls, classes are held that encourage active student participation.
Campus Common

Based on the concept of active learning, it provides a space where students can learn anywhere.
Laboratory

Our university places a strong emphasis on practical training, and we have well-equipped practical training facilities, including two cooking practice rooms, a nutrition education practice room, and a clinical nutrition practice room.
Learning Hall

Equipped with two large screens and a projector, the space can be used for student events and presentations. One entire wall of the doorway is a whiteboard, allowing for discussions to be conducted by writing down discussion points with whiteboard pens, or by attaching sticky notes and large sheets of paper. Facing the courtyard, the space offers a chance to experience the changing seasons.
library
The library is open to the general public as well as students.

Saturday: 8:30am - 5pm
For more detailed information on how to use the library, please visit the library's website.
design
The new library uses locally sourced timber for the ceilings and walls, creating a warm and inviting space where you can relax and read in a quiet and academic atmosphere.
On the other hand, there are also booths available for group study and other activities.
Information Search Corner

You can quickly search for the books you need. You can see not only their availability but also whether they are currently checked out.
Individual research booth

This space is popular with students because it allows them to concentrate on their studies and research.
Group study room

Since it's a private room, it can also be used as a space for group work during seminars. You can concentrate more deeply and absorb knowledge more effectively.
Extensive Reading Corner by Level

You can practice "extensive reading," a method of improving your language skills by reading many easy foreign language books that match your own abilities.
University cafeteria
Counter table seats (with power outlets) are also available near the terrace so that even those dining alone can feel comfortable.

Weekdays: 11:30am - 1:30pm
design
On sunny days, you can enjoy meals and breaks while getting some fresh air outside.
Kids' space
Additionally, a water play area is set up at the north entrance of the children's space, where children can enjoy playing in the water during the summer.

Other facilities
Learning Commons

Lectures, presentations, discussions, and group study can be held not only in classrooms, but also in corridors connecting lecture halls and seminar rooms, as well as in shared spaces. Students can have discussions while enjoying tea, and professors' research labs are designed with glass walls, making them easily accessible.
Japanese-style room

It can also be used as a tea room. Perfect for entertaining guests from overseas.
Arena

The meticulous design is evident throughout the campus. For example, the roof of the arena (gymnasium) is inspired by apple leaves, a specialty product of Nagano Prefecture. It evokes the image of lush, young leaves.
Sustainable Campus
*This project has been selected for the "Leading Project for Sustainable Buildings, etc." under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism.
