What is needed in university education today is to cultivate in the younger generation the ability to possess a calm intellect, a burning passion, and a compassionate heart (cool head but warm heart), and to continuously challenge themselves to create the future without being bound by past experiences.

Since its founding in 2018, The University of Nagano has upheld three missions: "Cultivating Leaders," "Regional Innovation," and "Global Dissemination." Under these missions, the university has developed various activities with the aim of fostering leaders who can pioneer the future with a global perspective and revitalize the region, while also becoming a research and education hub that drives industrial and cultural development in Nagano Prefecture, a region blessed with rich nature and a long history of tradition. In terms of education, the university has steadily achieved significant results by adopting advanced programs such as a full-time residential system for first-year students, seminars Communication Seminar, and short-term overseas study programs for all students. In particular, English Program for Global Mobility conducted over two years from the time of enrollment has led to a substantial and sustained improvement in the TOEIC scores of the university's students. Furthermore, various initiatives are planned in the dormitories, seminars (Communication Seminar and specialized seminars), and Center for Social Innovation Initiatives (CSI) to promote participation in community activities, and the students' active contributions to society are highly valued by local people. Furthermore, the university offers comprehensive support for career development, boasting a high level of guidance and pass rates for qualification exams nationwide. As a result, almost all undergraduate students decide on their career paths upon graduation and go on to play active roles in society.

University is a precious four years in which you are allowed to take on various challenges without being bound by results. In the working world, there is a tendency to value results—what you achieved and to what extent—more than the process—how diligently you worked.
