Overseas Program (Short-term training programs for all students)


This is a short-term training program lasting approximately 2-3 weeks, designed to allow all students to deepen their language skills and specialized field of study abroad, starting from their second year.
The countries visited and the specific learning experiences offered vary depending on the department, and it is expected that students will develop practical skills, a global perspective, and resilience through experiences that will lead to future learning.

Faculty of Global Management Studies course in the Department of Global Management Studies and Department of Food and Health Sciences Faculty of Health and Human Development will be held in the second semester of the second year, Department of Child Development and Education Faculty of Health and Human Development will be held in the third semester of the third year.

Aim

Acquiring strong human capabilities
This study abroad program aims to cultivate personal growth, independence, and collaborative skills through cross-cultural experiences, English presentations, and interaction with local students and experts.

Features

Connecting to specialized field learning and fostering a global perspective
Building upon the skills cultivated in the first year, students will develop the motivation to engage in in-depth learning in their specialized fields from the second year onward, broaden their perspectives on their academic disciplines, and acquire the ability to respond to diverse values.

Program outlines for each department

Faculty of Global Management Studies

  • English training to improve communication skills using business English.
  • Lectures on the fundamentals of business at universities and other institutions.
  • Company visits, lectures, and workshops

Faculty of Health and Human Development Department of Food and Health Sciences

  • Lectures and practical experiences on food and health at universities and in local communities.
  • Visits to hospitals and welfare facilities and interaction with RDNs *
*RDN stands for Registered Dietitian

Faculty of Health and Human Development Department of Child Development and Education

  • Lectures and workshops on Finnish childcare and early childhood education, as well as interaction with local students.
  • Visits to daycare centers and practical experience at public daycare centers and nature-based daycare centers.
