Course Introduction
Children and language

This course will provide an overview of traditional games and cultural assets for children that foster language development in children, such as card games and board games, and explore their uses. Participants will then delve into their own experiences with these games, consider their enjoyment and function as play while actually using them, and practically learn how children's speaking, listening, and expressive abilities develop through them.
educational principles

Through conceptual history, iconographic analysis, and group learning on the content of educational thought, students will learn: ① the basic concepts of education, changes in views of children and families, and the social changes that underlie them; and ② how educational thought has addressed these changes and what it has transformed.
Children and the Environment

Nature offers many materials that enhance children's creativity, and activities can be tailored to each child's interests and circumstances. Childcare that utilizes the natural environment allows children to express their inherent senses at their own pace and with their own sensibilities. We will consider what kinds of activities can actually be conducted in interaction with nature.
body expression exercises

This course will teach you the role of caregivers and teaching methods for capturing and nurturing children's rich expressions. To that end, you will fully engage your own senses to experience diverse and free expression and understand the relationship between your own body and mind, and how your body interacts with others (people and objects).
