About the Exchange Program – From Around the World to Nagano –
The exchange student program is a system in The University of Nagano accepts international students from partner universities overseas for a period of two or four semesters (four to twelve months), based on student exchange agreements concluded between the university and the partner university. Exchange students are enrolled as non-degree students and take regular courses alongside The University of Nagano students, in addition to Japanese language courses intended for international students. Exchange students generally stay at the "Zozan Dormitory" on Gocho Campus, and are expected to experience Japanese language and culture through dormitory life, as well as interact with local residents in the area surrounding the dormitory.

Before coming to Japan, I was worried about whether I would be able to make friends,
The University of Nagano has a buddy system, and I had a roommate in the dormitory, which helped me quickly adjust to life in Nagano.
There are lots of school events, so I've made many new acquaintances.

I'm so glad I came to The University of Nagano. Even though it was a short time, the professors and my friends were all so kind, and it's become a wonderful memory.
Most importantly, it changed my values. Now I'm working my hardest to get into a graduate school in Japan.

"I'm so glad I came." If someone asked me, "How was it?" after I was an exchange student, I would probably answer like this. Because being able to study at such a wonderful university for my final semester as a student, and then graduating from a university in my home country after returning home, felt like a dream come true, and that's no exaggeration. Of course, there were unpleasant things, but I have no regrets because I was able to do almost everything I wanted to do.

My exchange program at The University of Nagano was filled with wonderful experiences. Both the language and literature classes were very interesting, and I was able to engage with them enthusiastically. At first, I was worried that I wouldn't be able to express myself well in Japanese, but thanks to the support of everyone at the Global Center, my buddy, and my roommate, I was able to gain confidence in myself. This experience was truly invaluable, and I would wholeheartedly recommend it to many people.

Leaving home and coming to an unfamiliar place can be a little scary, but since I've come all this way, I don't want to give up the opportunity to learn new things. Over the past year, I've made many friends through the club, my life has become more fulfilling, and my Japanese has improved. I'm grateful to The University of Nagano. I will never forget any of you. It wouldn't be an exaggeration to say I'll never forget you all for the rest of my life.

I want to commend myself for having the courage to seize the opportunity to study abroad back then. Over the past six months, I've met many friends, visited many different places, and improved my Japanese. These are all invaluable experiences that I could never have had in Taiwan.
