Curriculum policy (Guidelines for curriculum development and implementation)



Faculty of Global Management Studies Department of Global Management Studies

Department of Global Management Studies has structured its curriculum to enable students to acquire the qualities and abilities outlined in the department's diploma policy to achieve its educational goals. This includes English Program for Global Mobility in General Education that systematically develops the four skills of reading, listening, writing, and speaking, as well as subjects that cultivate a broad range of general knowledge. In addition, Professional Licensing Programs and Technical Training include compulsory subjects that serve as introductions to specialized education, as well as "Faculty-wide Specialized Foundation Subjects" that include overseas practical training, "Course-specific Specialized Foundation Subjects" that provide the foundation for each course, and "Advanced Subjects" that broaden the scope of specialized knowledge.
Furthermore, in Professional Licensing Programs and Technical Training, the following four categories have been established regarding the qualities and abilities outlined in the department's diploma policy, and the curriculum will be structured to systematically cultivate each of these abilities.
■Category 1: Human qualities and basic social skills
Understanding and interacting with diverse values and different cultures / Knowledge and the ability to express oneself (communication skills) / Rich humanity and high ethical standards / Autonomy / Collaborativeness / Logical thinking skills / Mathematical thinking skills
■Category 2: Business Management Skills
Leadership / The ability to identify challenges in modern society / The ability to grasp various issues in corporate management
■Category 3: Business Creation Ability
The ability to identify the path to realization / Knowledge and initiative for doing business / Knowledge and planning skills for business creation
■Category 4: Public Management Capabilities
Ability to recognize problems in the local community / Knowledge and planning skills for policy formulation / Ability to act as a leader in the local community

Faculty of Health and Human Development Department of Food and Health Sciences

Department of Food and Health Sciences has structured its curriculum with the following characteristics to enable students to acquire the qualities and abilities outlined in the department's diploma policy, which is necessary to achieve its educational goals.
  • Through a variety of lectures, experiments, and practical training, students will develop communication skills and leadership abilities through group work, discussions, and presentations.
  • Based on an understanding of the structure of the local community, we provide education that leads to solutions for health, nutrition, and food-related issues.
  • To cultivate an international perspective and develop proactive initiative.
  • In the rapidly evolving fields of health, nutrition, and food, we provide education that fosters an understanding of the importance of continuous learning through the acquisition of new knowledge and skills.
  • In Professional Licensing Programs and Technical Training, in addition to obtaining a nutritionist license and eligibility to take the national examination for registered dietitians, students can also obtain a nutrition teacher license.
    The curriculum is structured systematically and progressively to enable students to obtain various teaching licenses, emphasizing the relationship between fundamentals and practical application.
  • Based on the knowledge and skills acquired in Professional Licensing Programs and Technical Training, we provide education that connects fundamentals with practical application, fostering logical and scientific development.

Faculty of Health and Human Development Department of Child Development and Education

Department of Child Development and Education has structured its curriculum with the following characteristics to enable students to acquire the qualities and abilities outlined in the department's diploma policy, which is necessary to achieve its educational goals.
  • This training program requires students to acquire foundational knowledge and skills, and enables them to obtain kindergarten teacher licenses and childcare worker qualifications, allowing them to contribute what they have learned to society.
  • This course provides a broad overview of children, child-rearing situations, and challenges, as well as an understanding of the natural, cultural, and regional characteristics that form the foundation of childcare and early childhood education. It also includes cross-cultural experiences such as Overseas Program, and explores the forms of childcare and education that are built upon these foundations.
  • We will enhance the curriculum with experiential expression-based subjects to cultivate the fundamental skills of childcare providers who foster children's autonomy and expressiveness, as well as with practical exercises and hands-on training subjects that cultivate a practical understanding of contemporary issues and problem-solving abilities.
  • A curriculum that emphasizes elective courses and enriches interactive small-group seminars to foster flexible and diverse thinking, creativity, and practical skills in response to students' own proactive awareness of issues.
